In modern conditions, the success of osseointegration depends on the nanoscale features of the surface and microstructure. Therefore, when developing new alloys for dental implants, it is unacceptable to simplify the influence of technological factors. A comparative analysis of titanium alloys used by dental implant manufacturers is performed. High annual publication activity in the direction of developing alloys for medical use is shown. At the same time, titanium alloys (commercially pure titanium Grade 2-4 and titanium alloys: Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-6Al-4V ELI and Ti-6Al-7Nb), created more than 30-50 years ago, are still used for the production of dental implants. It is shown that a significant increase in mechanical properties is necessary for the transition to new alloys. At the same time, the transition is hampered by the costs of mastering serial production. This article notes the need to develop a serial technology for the production of intermediate blanks, which will ensure stable quality of manufactured products. Since the presence of any defects (stress concentrators, local chemical and structural inhomogeneities) leads to a significant reduction in mechanical properties.
